Choose Your Starting Point

Don't try to fix everything at once. Pick one specific transition type that causes you the most friction.

Focus on this one area for at least two weeks before expanding.

A transition ritual is a short, repeatable sequence that signals to your brain "we're moving to something new." Start simple.

  • Keep it under 30 seconds initially
  • Make it physical as well as mental (posture change, breath work, etc.)
  • Attach it to an existing cue (closing laptop, standing up, etc.)
  • Test and refine based on what actually works for you

Practice Consistently

  • Use the same ritual every time for your chosen transition type
  • Track completion (simple checkbox works fine)
  • Notice small improvements before expecting dramatic changes
  • Adjust if something feels forced or unnatural
